Meadow Frit

MEADOW FRITTILARY  on purple coneflower at my daughter's house in Old Lyme.  FOY for me,,actually my first since 2006.
   There is a meadow in East Haddam where they were a given for years and the landowner reclaimed the field to plant a hay crop.   It's legal.  I don't know what herbicide was used but everything in the field was dead.  It made me sick to look at it.
