Delaware Skipper

Although this sighting is from New York, it should be of general interest
following the recent discussion of second brood Long Dash. This morning, I
found a fresh Delaware Skipper at Floyd Bennet Field in Brooklyn. To my
knowledge, it would be the first record of a second brood individual in New
York, but I'll have to research a bit.

For what it's worth:

1) Delawares are distinctly uncommon, although probably annual, at this site
in their normal time frame

2) A number of second brood Crossline Skippers were recorded in this
vicinity back in the 1990's

3) It's been a poor late season in the Jamaica Bay area, for the most part.
Swarthy Skippers should be common at FBF, but I only found one second brood
individual in four trips. So that's as many Delawares, which shouldn't even
occur.
