Subject: [Ctleps-l] Butterfly ID

Hi,

I don't post often on this list - mostly I just hope to see a Giant Swallowtail someday in my backyard... I have seen tons of Painted Ladies this year, on Butterfly Bush, Joe-Pye Weed, and Boneset. Anyway, there are enough posts about the local butterflies. My question is probably stretching the limits of this forum - it's a little off-topic. Hopefully I won't offend anyone with a quick identification question on a butterfly I saw in China.

The butterfly in the image was seen in Lijiang, Yunnan Province, China, on June 3, 2012, at 10 AM on Elephant Hill (at about 2400 meters). Any ideas what it could be?
