I am noticing this too; I have most of the flowers listed on the butterfly plant lists for nectar in my Windsor Locks garden and have not been seeing very many butterflies. I’ve been very disappointed so far. Definitely seems hot enough... In addition, only had 2 black swallowtail caterpillars on my dill; last year had many many more.

Subject: [External] [Ctleps-l] low numbers of leps?

I'm just curious - at this time last year, I saw quite a few different species of butterflies hovering about in my garden and plenty of opportunities to photograph them. This year, the showing has been dismal at best with very few adults flitting around my yard. Is this just something I'm seeing or are other folks noticing this as well? I'm in Branford - loaded with waiting flowers - and very few leps to speak of. Not even a monarch!

Is this weather related?
