BK and I took a short walk at Macricostas today and turned up the following:
Black Swallowtail
Eastern Tiger Swallowtail
Spicebush Swallowtail
Cabbage White
Clouded Sulphur
Orange Sulphur -- including a bunch of "alba" females
Banded Hairstreak -- well worn and actually in our garden
Eastern Tailed-Blue
Great Spangled Fritillary
Pearl Crescent
Common Ringlet
Silver-spotted Skipper
COMMON CHECKERED-SKIPPER -- feeding on clover and alfalfa blossoms in an
agricultural field. Beautiful fresh male.
Least Skipper
Peck's Skipper
Northern Broken-dash
Little Glassywing
Mulberrywing -- oddly in a dry ag field
Dun Skipper

Notable during the week, we also had a Harvester and Broadwinged Skipper.
And on an extralimital note, BK spotted a Gray Hairstreak on the sidewalk
at the corner of Pierrepont and Hicks Street in Brooklyn Heights. She
provided great entertainment to passers-by as she was checking closely for
fieldmarks.
