7/7 - Rich Chyinski, Hank Golet, Bill Van Loan, Jim Dugan, and I visited
Rich's cranberry bog near Montville. We had 8-10 Bog Copper flying, and we
watched a female oviposit on a cranberry leaf close to the ground. Here's a
photo of one of the coppers: https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__flic.kr_p_JQszFJ&d=CwIBaQ&c=-dg2m7zWuuDZ0MUcV7Sdqw&r=wPbNkt6T_H4X7m_PlvSFCGU2a9-csNvfRK2IVMi-mp0&m=IpcwRoSIJ7GIQfwuLrsNc2sis6OVQYG96casb13MFyw&s=0R1bE9ZR9-7YIZODGkkIU4rXGGYiWwgrGTIoJ1T1Tsc&e=

Gypsy moth numbers were impressive in the area; many areas stripped of
leaves.

Later, Bill Van Loan, Jim Dugan, and I checked out Jared Eliot Preserve in
Guilford where we had an American Snout and a Hackberry Emperor. We also
looked around Chaffinch Island - only one possible emperor that never
landed in view.
