[Ctleps-l] CBA Bent-of-the-River Trip Report

Over 30 people on this birds and butterflies walk at Bent-of-the-River today. Very low butterfly numbers and lots of species absent that have rarely been missed before: Am. Copper, Question Mark, Comma, Pearl Crescent, Monarch…

Here are the butterflies who were kind enough to show up:

Eastern Tiger Swallowtail
Spicebush Swallowtail
Cabbage Whites
Clouded Sulphurs
Orange Sulphurs
Hickory Hairstreaks (2)
Eastern Tailed Blues
Spring Azure (very worn)
Great Spangled Fritillarys (most numerous sp. there)
Mourning Cloak
Red Admiral
Little Wood Satyr
Common Wood Nymphs (not as common as usual)
Silver-spotted Skippers
Southern Cloudywing
Least Skippers

Some of the birds included Common Yellowthroat, N Parula, Prairie, and Hooded Warblers. Lots’a Indigo Buntings! A singing Yellow-throated Warbler was kind of nice.
