About a dozen or so of us did Bent of the River, Southbury trip today. We saw these:

Spicebush Swallowtail
Cabbage Whites
Clouded and Orange Sulphurs
Eastern Tailed Blues
Great Spangled Frits
A Question Mark
A COMPTON TORTOISESHELL! (In the gravel road between the house and barn)
An American Lady
Red Admirals
A Red-spotted Purple
A Brown species (working on it)
Little Wood Satyrs
Common Wood Nymphs
Silver Spotted Skippers - about 5 or 6
Northern Broken Dashes - ditto
A Little Glassywing
Delaware Skippers - about 6 or 7
Dun Skippers - a dozen, maybe?

Some expected species were absent, but we didn’t care. The tortoiseshell made up for it.
