The CT Butterfly Association was founded on August 3, 1994 and is the first organization of its kind in the state devoted exclusively to butterflies and moths. On August 3, 2024, we’re gathering to celebrate.

Please join us at the amazing Kellogg Environmental Center in Derby, CT. We will open with a special presentation by longtime supporter and past conservation chair, Christine Cook, on the importance of Joe-pye Weed and the amazing butterfly species that it attracts. She likely has the largest photo-collection of butterflies on Joe-pye in the universe! We ask that folks bring a bagged lunch to enjoy in the picnic area after the presentation. Afterwards, we will explore the grounds on a guided butterfly walk.

This event is free and open to the public, so we hope to see you there!
