for use with university electronic collections, Tufts is a partner in
this grant project. Staff from ILTS are participating in the project (Roy
& Xinjian). Kevin will do a presentation for our November meeting on this
topic.

Roy Lechich reported he and Brian Kupiec of the Beinecke are working on
different/parallel but different solutions for the Rescue Repository
injest tool. (Perhaps a topic for a future meeting?)

Kim Parker reported that the OACIS project will begin work on an Arabic
Full Text OCR project. They will be prepared to present on their work in
late fall / early spring.

Presentation:
Rick Zwies presented on the use of RSS at the Medical Library
Karen Reardon presented on the use of RSS on the library web server
(ogma).
Both presentations are linked from the Developer's Forum page:
http://www.library.yale.edu/~lso/iacdevforum.html

The presentations led to interesting questions about future use of this
technology and the opportunities it presents. Our explorations are just
beginning and future presentations may be appropriate.

Martha Smalley has volunteered to present in October on the web-based
data-entry tool used to enter metadata into image database(s) at Divinity.
We (WW&DCS) can also give a brief demo of the web-based cataloging tool
available in Personal Insight.

If other units/departments have created web-based cataloging/data entry
tools - please volunteer to show them as well! thanks.
The next meeting is October 29 at 10:00 in SML 409.

-Karen Reardon
