BULLDOGS IN ATHENS

The Undergraduate Career Services International Bulldogs Internship programs provide students with a rich, rewarding experience of working and living for nine weeks of the summer in Athens, Greece.
Requirements
These summer internships are open to Yale College freshmen, sophomores, and juniors only. All internships are expected to nine weeks in duration. Students are expected to perform at a high level, demonstrate professionalism, and contribute to the work environment.
Application Process
Submit applications through eRecruiting. Internships will be posted in eRecruiting on December 1st.

Application Deadline: February 1, 2012
Expenses
Participants are responsible for all costs incurred associated with the program. The total estimated student expenses from summer 2011 were $5,440.
• Airfare Students are responsible for arranging their own air travel.
• Health & safety Pre-departure health expenses may include Yale Travel Clinic visits for vaccinations and medication. All program participants are required to have health insurance coverage that extends abroad.
• Housing Housing is coordinated by UCS in a central location with access to public transportation. In order to derive maximum benefit from the programs, students are required to live in the housing provided, no exceptions. Rooms are shared and under some circumstances, the apartment mixture may be co-ed.
• Meals Students are responsible for purchasing their own meals.
• Visa/Work permit All international travelers must hold a valid passport. A visa or work permit may also be required.
• Work commute Within the city, participants may utilize local public transportation, taxis, or walk to and from work.
Funding If a position is paid, there will be a notation within the job description indicating such. Students receiving financial assistance from the University may be eligible to apply for the International Summer Award (ISA) grant to help defer costs.

The Whitney and Betty MacMillan Center for International and Area Studies at Yale invites applications to the 2012-2013 academic year Foreign Language and Area Studies Fellowships (FLAS) for modern language, area and international studies. FLAS fellowships are for undergraduate, graduate and professional school students whose academic programs include the study of a foreign language designated as priority by the Department of Education and whose career plans include teaching, public service or business. The competition is open to current, undergraduate, graduate or professional school students who will be continuing their studies at Yale in AY 2012-2013 and students admitted for study at Yale beginning fall 2012. Incoming students may be nominated by their admissions committee chairperson.
