The Angus McIntosh Centre for Historical Linguistics, of the School of Philosophy, Psychology & Language Sciences of the University of Edinburgh (UK), is advertising a fully paid PhD position, the McIntosh-Patterson PhD Studentship. This studentship includes full-time tuition fees (UK/EU or overseas level) with an annual stipend for three years. The successful applicant's primary research focus is expected to be on any aspect of historical linguistics that is within the expertise of the staff of Linguistics and English Language at Edinburgh; see https://www.ed.ac.uk/ppls/linguistics-and-english-language/people/academic-staff . Successful applicants will have a very good undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline and ideally will have, or will be studying for, a postgraduate master's degree (or equivalent).
