Summer Program -- HIV/AIDS in Western Europe
(Denmark's International Study Program)

The HIV/AIDS in Western Europe program through DIS
(http://www.dis.dk/AcademicSU/hwe/index.php) is a designated program
for Yale's International Summer Award (ISA) funding for 2007 (we will
notify you via this list-serv when the summer 2007 ISA web site is up
and running). This DIS program is quite popular and very
competitive, so don't delay -- apply now!

Here is the admission and application info from DIS ...

Admission & Prerequisites:
The program is aimed at highly motivated undergraduate students
interested in pursuing careers in medicine with a serious concern for
understanding the complexity of patients' lives. Students who do not
have an academic and experiential record consistent with a
competitive medical school applicant are encouraged to delay their
application until their credentials are stronger. Therefore, the
program is targeted at those students who have clearly embarked on a
path to medical school and are accumulating strong credentials for
admission. In addition, students must have a cumulative B average
(3.0 on a 4.0 scale) and have completed at least one year of biology
and one year of chemistry at the university level at the time of
application.

To Apply:
Due to the competitive nature of the program and a limited number of
spots, we are asking that students send their application directly to
the DIS North American Office, and DIS will forward it to the program
director in Copenhagen. Be sure that the application includes a
student essay, an integral part of the application, explaining the
academic and career-related reasons for choosing the
program. Application materials are available at
http://www.dis.dk/AcademicSU/hwe/index.php.
