International Summer Award - Summer 2006
IEFP-sponsored summer study abroad

New Major/Intended Major
Option: Economics! Newly added are two programs
approved for majors or intended majors in
economics: London School of Economics,
Pembroke-King's Cambridge Summer School. For
links to these programs, as well as general ISA
information, please go to the IEFP-ISA web site
http://www.yale.edu/isa/programs_iefp.html --
and read below for application instructions.

The application process explained one more time
-- read this carefully, because we have been
hearing that there is much confusion out there
about how and where to apply for IEFP-ISA
sponsored programs (a list of the IEFP sponsored
programs can be found at
http://www.yale.edu/isa/programs_iefp.html
). Share this information with your roommates,
neighbors, the student sitting next to you in
class. If you miss IEFP's deadline (noon,
Friday, February 24) you will not receive ISA funding for summer 2006!

1.You must apply to one of the IEFP designated
programs by the program deadlines (you can find
deadlines on the program web sites -- see above
URL for a link to the programs). Note that
sometimes the programs will fill before the
stated deadlines, so don't wait -- apply now!

2.You must also apply to IEFP using the Student
Grants Database registration page, and IEFP's
application forms, by noon, Friday, February
24. Our forms are available at
http://www.yale.edu/isa/programs_iefp.html#IEFPapp_process,
and the application checklist will link you to
the Student Grants Database. DO NOT wait to
be admitted to your university/program of choice
before applying to IEFP - you must apply by our
February 24 deadline or you will not receive the ISA funding.

3. Verify your eligibility for ISA funding, and
find out what percentage of the costs you are
eligible for by contacting Carolyn Falls in
Student Financial Services (carolyn.falls at yale.edu).

A note about the February 24 deadline: It will be
very very busy in IEFP on that date, so if you
want to avoid standing in a long line of students
turning in ISA applications, do not wait until
next Friday – come in earlier in the week and
save yourself time and frustration!

If you have ANY questions about the process,
please call the office at 432-8684. It may be
possible to get clarification from Pam when you
call, or she may suggest you come in and meet
with me. Do not let confusion over the process
stop you from receiving ISA funding to attend
non-Yale summer study abroad programs!
