HAPPY NEW YEAR!

2006 is theYear of Study Abroad
In November, the U.S. Senate unanimously passed a resolution designating

(http://www.yale.edu/iefp/studyabroad/index.html) and the International
Summer Award site (http://www.yale.edu/isa/). To schedule an appointment
to talk about your options, please call 432-8684. And ... don't forget to
watch this space for announcements about upcoming fun and interesting panel
presentations by members of the Classes of 2006 and 2007 who have studied
abroad.

John Thouron Prize for Summer Study Abroad at
Pembroke College, Cambridge University
The Thouron family, known for its generous commitment to trans-Atlantic

of both shared and differing aspects of British and American culture.

The John Thouron Prize will be awarded to a small, select, group of
undergraduates from Yale, Harvard, and the University of Pennsylvania to
pursue an eight-week summer program at Pembroke College, Cambridge University.

Attention Sophomores! Early Application Deadlines for Spring 2007
Oxford/Cambridge spring terms:
It may seem terribly early, but now is the time to start planning for an
Oxford or Cambridge study abroad experience for spring 2007. Application
deadlines for these two universities are much earlier than for other study
abroad programs and universities. We recommend that you apply no later
than the end of January for a spring 2007 admission. Read The
Undergraduate Guide to Study Abroad at Oxford and Cambridge Universities at
http://www.yale.edu/iefp/studyabroad/oxbridge.html.

Mt. Holyoke College in Sénégal spring semester:
MHC's application deadline for spring 2007 is in mid-February.
    * Links to these program/university web sites can be found in the
Regions section of the study abroad web site.
    * For the fall/full year deadlines, please see the program/university
web sites for their deadlines, and the IEFP study abroad web site for
internal Yale deadlines (incl. early deadline for UCL and DIS fall/year
