Thouron Prize Deadline (Spend the summer at Cambridge University!)
Don't forget -- the Thouron Prize application deadline is February 1. You

Will study abroad hurt my chances of being elected to Phi Beta Kappa?
No! If you take courses abroad in an approved program which is counted as
a full term, but where grades do not count for PBK because the program is
not Yale affiliated, you are not at a statistical disadvantage for election
to PBK. Why not? Because what ultimately will count will be the
percentage of A grades of those courses you have taken at Yale. Of course,
if you stay here you do have the change to earn more As, but then you also
have to earn more of them because you will be taking more courses! It is
the percentage of A grades of all courses taken that counts.
For more information see Yale Alpha of Connecticut PBK Web
site http://www.yale.edu/pbk/electioninfo.html

New ISA option for majors and intended majors in film studies
A program at the Beijing Film Academy has just been included on the IEFP
program list for ISA funding. Students who are majoring in, or intending
to major in, film studies, and receive financial aid from Yale this
semester, should take a look at the ISA and the UWashington/Beijing Film
Academy web sites.
