Don't Delay -- Apply for your passport today!

The U.S. Passport Services Office is experiencing serious delays in
processing the large number of applications they have received since
the U.S. instituted new passport regulations earlier this
year. Processing time for passports is currently 8-12 weeks or
longer; for expedited service, it can take up to 2 months. If you do
not yet have a passport, or need to renew your passport, and are
planning on studying abroad in the fall or spring of 2007-08, I urge
you to submit your application immediately, and pay the extra fee for
expedited service (especially if studying abroad in the fall).

For information on applying for a passport and estimated processing
times, please go to
http://travel.state.gov/passport/passport_1738.html. See also
today's New York Times article on the situation
http://www.nytimes.com/2007/06/07/washington/07passport.html.
