Note to Sophomores and Juniors About Applying for Spring Term Abroad
Don't wait until the last minute to submit your
Yale Year or Term Abroad application! If you are
planning on studying abroad for spring 2008,
please note that we are now accepting and
reviewing applications (application forms are
available at
http://www.yale.edu/iefp/studyabroad/forms?mm=4).
Most students who turn in completed, routine
applications (routine = approved Programs; meet
all requirements as listed in YCPS and the study
abroad web site) will have an answer from the
Year or Term Abroad Committee within a week. Do
not wait until you have received an acceptance
from your chosen study abroad program before
applying to Yale -- whether or not you have
received acceptance to your program, your Yale
application must be submitted to IEFP by our deadline (October 15).
Exchange Rate Getting You Down?
Are you worried about the decreased buying power
of the dollar? Then think about study abroad
options outside of Europe and the UK. Do you
speak Spanish? Then try Latin America. And for
you French speakers, why not consider
Sénégal? If you are looking for an English
speaking alternative to the UK, then why not
South Africa or Tanzania? You can also take
courses in English in places such as India and
Turkey. To find out what is available, take a
look at the Regions pages of the study abroad
website
http://www.yale.edu/iefp/studyabroad/approved/index.html?mm=3,
then schedule an appointment with a study abroad
advisor in IEFP (call 432-8684 to schedule an appointment).
