Announcing the extension of the Directed Independent Language Study Program (DILS)
 application deadline for Fall 2009 language study
Although the official deadline was yesterday (April 15th), the Center for Language Study, DILS program will be accepting applications from students until Monday April 20th.

The Directed Independent Language Study Program (DILS), offered through the Center for Language Study, presents an opportunity for Yale students (undergraduate, graduate and professional) to engage in the learning of languages that are not offered through formal courses at Yale.  In this program, students work on their own each week with language learning materials identified by the DILS coordinator and then meet with a native-speaking language partner for two 60-minute practice sessions.  Although DILS is not for course credit, students gain a great deal from participation in the program.  Not only do DILS students increase their language abilities but they also create strong bonds with their language partners.
