[Insightl] Anyone upgrade to version 6?

We have started the process of installing Luna 6.0 but there are several
major management issues to consider (esp. if you have a heavy investment
in Insight the way Smith does).
- Personal collections will not be supported in LUNA. One option is to
migrate personal collections to institutional collections. But, users
will not be able to add to them once you do. Or faculty can rebuild
their personal collections in Flickr, but they must be "public," not
"private."
- Presentations will not migrate to LUNA, but groups will. Faculty have
to rebuild presentations if they want to go with LUNA. One option is to
have users with many legacy presentations stay with the Insight JVa
client. But we are hesitant to support JVA and LUNA for different
faculty and different courses.
- Moving groups from Insight to LUNA requires a freeze on group-making.
It's August and the scheduling could be tight. We're moving our groups
this week to a test server to see how long it takes and what they will
look like in LUNA.
As you can see, if you are starting from scratch with Insight and LUNA
things will go a lot more quickly. Those institutions with legacy
activity will need to develop strategies for bringing faculty along.
Thanks,
Elisa
