[Insightl] [Insight] Anyone upgrade to version 6?

Dear Marty,
Thanks for the update. During the beta test for 6.0 we (and several
others) had the same comment about the WWWW. We too have the subject
data tagged in our cataloging tool, but it doesn't show up in Insight.
In addition to the Subject problem, we would want to index our
"Cultures" in both "Who" and "Where." I hope that we can see some
improvement in this area.

Thanks,
Elisa

We've just upgraded. I'm still getting my bearings, but I'm confident
we
will be up and running with LUNA by the beginning of the semester.
Colby
didn't have a lot of Insight use prior to the upgrade so we don't have
to
worry about migrating groups, etc.

One thing that I'm disappointed about is that the Who-What-When-Where
index
mapping is unsophisticated. So if you, like I, followed VRA Core and
created Subject fields modified by SubjectType attribute fields
(...Topic,
...Place, ...Name), you cannot map Subject to the W-W-W-W index. This
is
because -all- Subject data would have to go into -either- Who -or- What
-or-
Where. According to Luna, the only recourse at this time would be to
set up
new fields (e.g., SubjectName, SubjectPlace, SubjectTopic) and migrate
data.
I'm not sure how big of an undertaking this would be. But I thought the
whole idea of using nationally vetted metadata standards like VRA Core
was
to allow extensibility across applications. Instead I find myself in
the
position of having to change my schema to match the application. This
is a
shame because otherwise the W-W-W-W idea lends itself perfectly to
Subject
data. I hope the Luna development team will consider beefing up the
mapping
tool in LUNA Publisher.

- Personal collections will not be supported in LUNA.

- Presentations will not migrate to LUNA, but groups will.
