Fuji TV programs are broadcasted over the air on a local station, KSCI,
in Southern California that specializes in Asian and ethnic programs.
Also, some Fuji programs are also cablecasted on the International
Channel, which also has Chinese and Korean programming, Indian,
Pakistani, Iranian, etc.
The first half hour of the Fuji TV news in the morning is subtitled in
English.
Japan TV which is sent through the air via Primestar Satellite can also
be found as a premium channel like in my hometown. The noon NHK news is
unscrambled and is available to any cable subscriber. My cable company
also shares the same channel for the same fee with programs from
Hawaii's Golden Network, where many of the programs are subtitled.
Bravo Channel did a Kurosawa film festival over the summer. And some of
the films were blackboxed and had electronic subtitles, as opposed to
subtitles that are burned onto the film itself.
How do we get early warnings on these programs? i don't know, I'm still
figuring it out myself. I just learned that the International Channel
had been airing Age: 35 and the last episode was last Sunday....
