If you can read french, I recommend you the last issue of HK Magazine.
It's a specials issue about Takeshi Kitano and Japanese movies. 
They are introdducing what they think what is the next japanese New Wave
: Morimoto Koji, Tsukamoto Shinya, Harada Masato, Ishii Sogo and of
course Iwai Shinji.
Two pages in French for each of these four directors from Japan.
