My name is Cimberli Kearns and I'm a doctoral candidate in American film.
My route to Japanese film has been circuitous, taking me through Edo
culture, past shunga and so on.  I've learned a great deal from the
various threads running through the list.  I hoped that I could make a
request.  I will be introducing *Traffic Jam* (1992) as part of our East
Asian Film Series at Indiana University and I wondered if anyone had any
information on the film that might be interesting as part of an
introduction to the film.  The audience is generally a mixed group
consisting a many who are interested in learning something about Asian
film in general.
