Kamikaze Taxi

I saw a movie called "Kamikaze Taxi," directed by Harada Masato, at the San
Francisco International Film Festival in 1996.  It was an extremely violent
picture, but I thought the relationship between the main character and the
Brazilian-Japanese taxi driver was quite interesting.  Does anybody know if
it was ever distributed in the U.S.?
