Great New Resource

The University of Michigan's Center for Japanese Studies has established a
great new resource for anyone dealing with Japanese film in the US. They
run an annual film series, and thus are collecting all sorts of useful
information on print sources. They're also producing synopses and other
kinds of informative materials. This is incredibly useful info for anyone
teaching or programming Japanese film, so they've decided to put it online.


They've started with about 25 or so films, but after a couple years this
will be a substantial collection of data. It's even in the form of a
searchable database.

As an extra, they've put an incredibly long list of literary adaptions
online as well (and connected to the searchable database to boot). 

The site is managed by Brett Johnson, who is working at the Center while
finishing up a PhD on Japanese modern theater. Check it out:
