Miyajima at Kawasaki

As part of its series, "Jiyu to iu chihei," focusing on postwar
independent productions, the Kawasaki City Museum will be holding a
retrospective of some of the films of Miyajima Yoshio, the
cinematographer and director who died earlier on this year. Films shown
include his rarely seen documentary paean to North Korea, _Chon Ri Ma_.

The symposium should focus on a variety of issues, from Miyajima's
involvement in _Ano hata o ute_ (1944) to his involement with Ito in the
Toho strikes and his work with Noto at the Kindai Eiga Kyokai. (Makino
is up and about after his surgery and should be fine for the sympsium.)
All showings are 500 yen except for the symposium, which is free.
