Japanese cinema online database

I'm looking for an online database for Japanese movies that I can refer to for
both descriptions and reviews of movies. There is an excellent one for Hong
Kong movies so I thought there should be an equally impressive one for
Japanese cinema.  The Hong Kong site can be located at:
http://egret0.stanford.edu/hk/     Does anyone know if there are  any  sites
that rival this one for Nihon no eiga? I have been looking for something like
this for days, to no avail.... The great thing about the Hong Kong site is
that it gives several reviews for each film, so you are not stuck with the
opinions of one person... Also there are many other features as well...
