Films about Edo/Meiji-era cities

Re Frances Loden's relayed query on films that depict city life in the Edo
and Meiji period. Masahiro Shinoda's Sharaku offers a wealth of
conscientiously researched, beautifully presented period detail on life in
late 18th century Edo. I'm sure that subtitled prints are available, though
I'm not sure where to source them abroad. The distributor in Japan was
Herald.
