Retrospective in Boston

The Japan Foundation is organizing the tour with Cinematheque Ontario of
Toronto, and we naturally wanted to include both "Black Rain" and "Unagi".
I don't know whether Shochiku managed to sell "Unagi", but when we tried to
buy a print, or borrow one for the event, Shochiku said NO.

As for "Black Rain",  the rights went back to Toei.  Again, it is not clear
why, but Toei did not want to sell or rend a print of the film because of
the "disputes" regarding the distribution rights.

I would appreciate any news on who's going to pick up "Unagi" in the US.
