Pride audience

I saw Pride on a Monday afternoon in Nara. Granted, young people probably
couldn't go at 4-4:30, but the audience was made up of about 30 senior
citizens and me. I came close to showtime and the register lady was counting
a stack of maeuriken (which I believe to have been distributed free to
senior citizen organizations.) About a fourth of the audience didn't stay
until the end. It's much easier to walk out on a free movie than on a \1800
one!

People behind me reacted vocally only once, when narrator/defense attorney
says that the Allies chose the execution date to coincide with the crown
prince's (today's emperor) birthday. Those bastards!

I think the one-sidedness was certainly boring, but the whole Indian
independence subplot is very poorly told, putting aside all considerations
of history. Just sloppy structuring.

I heard from the AD/translator that the "director's cut" came in at an extra
50 minutes' three and a half hours. Can't wait for the video release!

Did everybody see me flip the camera off?
