There haven't been any critical books on Yamatoya that have come out as 
far as I know, but after he died, two anthologies of his writings--one of 
his criticism, one of his scripts--were published.  The latter contains 
the script for _Koya no datchi waifu_ (as well as _Koroshi no rakuin_, 
etc.).  Both contain filmographies, chronologies, and notes that might 
fill in a lot of info.  Here is the bib info in Japanese:
