1) I haven't seen any of the Sone films, but the Yamane book will help.
2) Adachi was arrested in Lebanon last year along with 5 (?) other members
of the Red Army. No one new exactly where he was since he gave up film art
in the mid-1970s and became a full-time political "activist" (read
guerilla). He apparently emerged as the leader of this group, which
probably says something about his dedication to the cause. I have wanted to
learn what became of his trial, but haven't been able to find a scrap of
information. Anybody out there know? I did hear that the Japanese
government's attempts to extradite him were unsuccessful, but this doesn't
not come from an authoritative source.
