Hi Darrell!

Thanks for the kind words. We've worked our butts off on the film and by this
Friday (the official opening), we'll find out if it'll work. When we saw the
film in Toronto, we all decided this is the film to build our company on and
have been devoted to it since September. Luckily, Mr. Kitano was able to
travel to the US for us and not only did we have the pleasure of his and his
office's company, but so did a large number of the press. There's more
articles to come, and if you and KineJapan like, I'll make a list in a few
weeks.

By the way, we found him very interesting. He did eight interviews a day for
six straight days and although he answered several of the questions similarly
(I think due to his shyness but also to the sameness of the questions), we
found him revealing more of himself than he ever did in previous years. I
think this is true of Fireworks as well.

I liken Kitano's new work to John Huston's The Dead and the silent films of
William Wyler (in 1929 he went from an hack director of B Westerns to the
brilliant Hell's Heroes and Shakedown) where a "mature" artist can still find
amazing personal growth through and in his work. Any thoughts out there on
this?
