Tanin no kao / Face of another

Two small questions about some info on Teshigahara's adaptation of Abe
Kobo's "tanin no kao" ("face of another") which I happened to cull from
the Internet Movie Database: 

(1) According to IMD, Sam Raimi's "Darkman" is a remake (!) of
Teshigahara's film. This sounds weird to me, but would anyone know where
this info comes from, or more on the background?

(2) Again, according to IMD, Teshigahara's film is quoted in Pink
Floyd's "The Wall". Before I sit down and watch that one again, would
anyone know whether that's really true, and what kind of "quotation"
this would be?
