Blacks in Japanese film/literature

There's the short story "The Catch" (you can find it in a book called
_"The Catch" and Other Stories_.
It's about an African-American POW held in a small Japanese village during
WWII.Written in the 50s or 60s
Outside of your requested time period, there's also the movie SWALLOWTAIL
BUTTERFLY. 

And there's a movie, I don't know the name, about a salaryman
who goes to Africa to set up some company or other.

Did Banana Yoshimoto write a story with a black character? (that would be
80s or 90s, though).
