[Mike Carson]

hello everyone. my name is mike carson. i'm new to the list. i live in 
Houston Tx USA. i am a musician and an independent 
filmmaker/screenwriter/producer. i am a great admirer of japanese cinema, 
but only recently discovered it. about 3 years ago i saw Kurosawa's Hidden 
Fortress. it was a really great film. that led me to all his other works, 
and incedentally other japanese films and movies. the last Japanese film i 
saw was Sonatine. i thought it was absolutely astonishing. i'm looking very 
forward to seeing Hana-bi also. I hope to learn a lot about Japanese cinema 
on this list. one more thing. i find it very easy to find Chinese, French, 
Italian, Swedish, and just about every cultures films, but i have a 
terrible time finding Japanese movies. does anyone know of a good mail 
order videostore, or an internet site or anything, where they can be more 
easily obtained? please let me know. Thanks.
