Stockholm Int Film Festival goes Japan
The ninth Stockholm International Film Festival (in Sweden) takes place 6-15 November this year. Fifteen films from Japan will be screened:
Beat by Miyamoto Amon (Screened at the Venice Film Festival)
Black Angel vol 1 by Ishii Takashi (From the Director of Gonin)
Blue Fish by Nakagawa Yosuke (Screened at Berlin Film Festival)
Kuruwasetaino / I wanna drive you insane by Ishibashi Yoshimasa (international premiere)
Junk Food by Yamamoto Masashi (screened at the Berlin Film Festival)
The Key by Ikeda Toshiharu (From the director of Evil Dead Trap amongst others)
Kichiku dai enkai by Kumakari Kazyuyoshi (winner of 1997 Pia film festival screened in Berlin)
Sada by Obayashi Nobuhiko (Competed in Berlin and won the FIPRESCI award - international film critics prize)
The following films will also be screened in a tribute to the late Kurosawa Akira to whom the festival is dedicated:
To Live
Throne of Blood
Seven Samurai
The Idiot
Stray Dog
and in a selection by Marc Caro (the director of Delicatessen and The City of the Lost Children):
Akira by Otomo Katsuhiro
