Kumashiro

As an event in between two festivals, the Biennial of Japanese Cinema of
Orleans
(France) organizes in Orleans (at the Scene Nationale, November 10-15) and
in Paris (Maison de la Culture du Japon, November 24-28) a tribute to
Kumashiro Tatsumi.

Program:

Ichijo Sayuri: nureta yokujo (1973) (Following Desire)
Koibitotachi wa nureta (1973) (Twisted Path of Love)
Yojohan fusuma no urabari (1973) (The World of Geisha)
Akasen Tamanoi: nukeraremasu (1979) (Tamanoi, Street of Joy)
Akai kami no onna (1979) (The Woman with Red Hair)
Modorigawa (1983) (Appassionata)
Bo no kanashimi (1994) (Like a Rolling Stone)

All these films are presented with English and French subtitles, except for
Modorigawa (French subtitles only).
These films (except Modorigawa) had been presented at the Rotterdam Film
Festival in the Kumashiro retrospective organized by the Japan Foundation.


 ...and please note the dates of the 4th Biennial of Japanese Cinema
(Orleans) next year (1999):
November 16-21, 1999: You will be able to watch there some 30 recent
Japanese films of the last two years, and several retrospectives.
