In the US, a print is being distributed by either New Yorker or Kino. I
can't remember which, but you'll find it in their catalogs in no time. It
has the soundtrack laid down by Kinugasa after the print was discovered in
the 70s.
For more information, look for Aaron Gerow's monograph on the book. Perhaps
Aaron could send us some bibliographic info? And is it out yet?
For things that have already been published, there is a long analysis in
Burch's To the Distant Observer, as well as articles. I'll put the
