Film fire

In an incident that reminds us of the necessity of proper preservation of
old films, the papers reported that some old prewar documentaries on 16mm
nitrate film stock housed in a warehouse in Arakawa-ku in Tokyo
spontaneously combusted on the 28th because of the heat. It was not
reported what films were lost, but most were apparently from around 1940.
Also no report on who owned these films. The Fire Department again
called on those holding films to properly store them.
