The third in NHK's biennial series of Asian film festivals, "Asian Film
Festival" will be held Dec. 11-19 this year.
The event is an opportunity to see coproductions between the public
television corporation and emerging directors in South Korea, Nepal, Iran
and Australia. Screenings include Peppermint Candy, the Korean-Japanese
film that opened this year's prestigious Pusan International Film Festival,
the first such coproduction to be formally released in South Korea after the
ban on Japanese culture was lifted. There will also be screenings of two
films made using NHK's High Vision technology.
A selection of new wave films from Thailand and Vietnam will be an added
attraction. The event will be held at the Japan Foundation Forum in Akasaka
Twin Tower in Akasaka, Tokyo. The nearest station is Tameike Sanno on the
Nanboku Line.
Tickets are available via Ticket Pia at (03) 5237-9999. For more
