Sorry that the list is turning soooo Korean lately, but this mailing is in 
part a response to Abe Mark Nornes mailing last year regarding Screen Quota 
Day in Korea.  The Special Committee to Protect the Screen Quota System in 
Korea are requesting that "all who wish to maintain cultural diversity 
against Hollywood's global dominance" write to the United States Trade 
Representative and Motion Picture Representative in Washington DC.  
Addresses follow.

The committee claims that "US delegates are pressuring the Korean government 
to announce a reduction in the screen quota system before the official visit 
of President Kim Dae-Jung to the US in early July.  ...  It seems to us that 
this continuous pressure applied by the US is meant to break down the 
cultural protections employed by other countries before the millenium 
meeting of the World Trade Organization taking place next year."

There'll be an international seminar devoted to the issue at this year's 
Pusan International Film Festival in October.  The Committee and its
