Self-intro

Hello everyone.  My name is Brian Dunn and I am new to the list here.  When
I was 14, I started taking Japanese in high school.  I also took a couple of
film classes in high school.  I have continued my Japanese and last summer,
after I got married to a Japanese woman and began to get more fluent in
Japanese, we started watching Japanese movies together.  I really enjoyed
the Shunji Iwai films I saw, especially Swallowtail Butterfly, Picnic, and
Love Letter.  I also really enjoyed Juuzo Itami's films, a film called
Nagisa no Shindobaddo (dir - ?), E no Naka no Boku no Mura, (dir - ?), and
many more.  Last fall I took a course on Japanese cinema at the University
of Washington and was turned on to some great works by Kurosawa, Ozu, and
Mizoguchi.  I loved all of Kurosawa's films, especially Dreams.  So right
now I am at an art college in San Francisco studying illustration and
animation, but am debating whether or not to switch to photography or motion
pictures/video.  My problem is I love all three areas.

Anyway, that's me.  I love talking about films.  And I love hearing what
other people think about films.
