A friend asked me to ask if anyone could help him find the following video.
>I am looking for a three-part movie on Miyamoto Musashi (1584-1645),
>which was on television this past December, on the 21st, 22nd, and
>23rd. I received the trilogy on channel 14 or perhaps channel 10 here
>in Kawasoe, Saga, Kyushu.
>
>I heard from a friend that Kenya Kitaoji played Musashi in this
>particular film; however, we're unaware of the director's name.
>Nevertheless, Part I depicts Musashi's life around the age of 28 or 29
>when he fought Sasaki Kojiro at Ganryu Island. Part III takes the
>audience to places like Kumamoto (Higo) Castle and the Reigendo cave
>where Musashi spent the remainder of his life and summarized his
>strategy in a Book of Five Rings (Gorin no sho).
>
>This trilogy, which I am interested in buying as described above (with
>English subtitles if possible), is different from "The Samurai
>Trilogy," directed by Hiroshi Inagaki, starring Toshiro Mifune as
>Musashi. Anyway, the movie starring Mifune was done around 1965, and
>was base on the novel "Miyamoto Musashi," by Eiji Yoshikawa. I have
>already purchased the Inagaki film, in color, digitally remastered,
>with English subtitles. It's a Janus film with the Public Media Home
>Vision name appearing on the casing.
>
>If you could be of any help, I thank you in advance.
