Everything seems to happen in Kyoto these days : I'm just coming back from this afternoon film showing at the Japanese Foundation, where I was delighted and flabbergasted with sheer delight with Naomi Kawase's short films that I had not seen yet ; this means that you might probably even be able to borrow a copy with english subtitles through the Japan Foundation.
