21-22

CALL FOR PROPOSALS

I hereby announce a NORFA workshop on history and film to be held at the
Department of Comparative Literature, Lund University, August 21-22 1999.
The workshop will consist of presentations and film screenings.
Presentations of 20-minute papers will be chaired by myself and Professor,
Dr. Thomas Elsaesser, Universiteit van Amsterdam. Each presentation will 
be
followed by thorough discussion. The workshop will be open to Nordic
PhD-students in Film Studies and will be held in English. I now call for
200 word proposals for papers to be presented. The papers should deal
exclusively with the issue of how the medium of film - fiction or
documentary - handles historical events (any national cinema could be
studied). The proposals should be mailed to me no later than July 1 1999.
For those students who will have their proposals accepted for presentation
during the workshop, costs for travel and accommodation will be 
reimbursed.
I hope to see you in lovely Lund in August.
