Script of "Nejishiki"

As part of the Asano Tadanobu retrospective in London, I'm screening Ishii
Teruo's 1998 adaptation of "Nejishiki" ("Wind-Up Type" is translation given
in Mark Schilling's "Japan Times" review). Anyone who's seen the version
can appreciate that it isn't really subtitle-able. As such - and given
financial constraints - I'm experimenting with a benshi performance on
Friday evening. Its a fairly absurd, surreal film, based on Tsuge
Yoshiharu's manga, which suits the benshi in mind, Hohki Kazuko. But she'd
really like to see a script.
Has one been published in Japan? And which version? Apparently it was much
more "commercial" before Asano became attached. In the meantime I'll try to
track down the manga in London.
