There was a little bit of flack.  Most big commercial films open on
Fridays in the US.  This one opened on a Wednesday, i.e., a school
day in the middle of the week, thus possibly encouraging it primary
audience to skip school.  The distributor claims it was done to begin
spreading word of mouth on the film early.  (Note:  Nov. 11
is Veterans Day in the US, a holiday in many places.)
How will Pokemon's box office compare with that of Ninja Turtles?
We'll find out very soon.  (PS -- I haven't seen the film yet.
