Yes, in fact some of the discourse behind the project has gone like this: 
"The Americans didn't get it right, so it seems like we have to do it 
ourselves."  There are, of course, other reasons.

Those of you who see it might see me fleeing from a building or two.  I 
answered the Movil call for extras and spent an amusing day talking to a 
bunch of Godzilla fans.
